Who We Are

We are the music makers; we are the dreamers of dreams.

The Curiosity Society is a membership community for people who give a damn.  People who are in the business of dreaming about the future and working across systems and sectors to make those dreams a reality. We seek out people who are intellectually curious. We are compelled to create the collaborative conditions that make radical possible.

Why we exist

Curiosity Society is the only collaborative R&D community that blends imagination with action, looking a century ahead to build new generative business & cultural models.

We believe that asking questions is what makes us human.

We cannot solve tomorrow’s challenges with yesterday’s thinking.

Remarkable experiences have the power to transform worldviews.

Trust is a catalytic currency to accomplish inspiring things.

Our History

Founded as the design studio, Epic Decade, we’ve been convening a society of curiosity for 15-years. The studio is led by Seth Goldenberg, advancing the fields of business strategy, complex cultural change, generative storytelling, systems thinking, and experience design.

Goldenberg has been a contributing leader to the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, the President Obama 2008 DNC, the Oprah Winfrey Network, Apple Stores, American Express, ConocoPhillips, ABInBev, Capital One Bank, the Governor of Rhode Island, Boston University, and more. The studio has hosted nearly 4,000 VIP guests in Salons, collaborating with more than 50 of the Fortune 500 Companies, MacArthur “Genius Fellows”, Nobel Laureates, and US Senators. As a thought leader, Goldenberg and the studio’s insights have been published by Penguin Random House group in his book Radical Curiosity, celebrated by the Financial Times and Fast Company magazine. Today, Epic Decade and ImagineCo have formed a partnership to create the Curiosity Society, activating a new era of the Salon.

Salons: Past, Present, Possible

Dating back to 17th century Paris, these forums fueled the Enlightenment. They were hosted by salonnières, pioneering women who advanced society. In 1884 the Société des Artistes Indépendants adopted the Salon namesake for its exhibitions with members such as Chagall, Giacometti, Kandinsky, Miró, Modigliani, Van Gogh, and Toulouse-Lautrec. In 1904, Gertrude Stein revived the Salon as a form of discourse—hosting Picasso, Hemingway, and Matisse in her home as a ritual of great debate. In 2011, the Imagination Salons were reframed in Rhode Island, a place known for “Lively Experiments”.
